What's an automaker to do when it wants to focus on high sale volumes? Extend the production of several of its best-selling vehicles of course. Recently the Chrysler Group decided to do exactly that with the Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Caravan and Dodge Avenger models. Here at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Medford, we have all of the latest details to share.
Production for the Jeep Wrangler is scheduled to continue until mid-2018, the Dodge Caravan is slated to run until the end of 2017, and the Dodge Avenger will now run until the end of 2015. Previously, Chrysler was toying with the idea of making some very different changes. The Avenger was going to be replaced in January, and the Wrangler was in mid-2016. A new version of the Grand Caravan was in the works for mid-2016 as well. In the future, it's possible the company will focus on the production of just one minivan model, but nothing has been confirmed by the automaker about this possibility.
This is an ideal strategy to go with considering Chrysler wants to work on boosting sale volumes. In order to do so, it must focus on models that are top-sellers within their respective segments. The Wrangler, Caravan and Avenger are the models that will get the job done now that the small compact and crossover SUV vehicles have become so popular among car buyers.
