If any of you in the greater Medford, OR area are looking for a small and versatile crossover, then the Dodge Journey would be a great model to consider. While we love its style, features and level of innovation, we can't help but look ahead to the production of the next-generation model which is set to take place in 2016. Let's take a look at the details that have been recently released by the automaker.

The next-generation Journey won't just be receiving some light alterations. Instead it will be built on an entirely new platform also being used to build a new Fiat model called the Freemont that's set for the European market. The new Journey will stray away from the CUSW platform that is typically used for other new Dodge models, and might even have hint of Italian influence in its design.

Dodge also unveiled that it would be moving production of the next Journey model from Mexico to its Sterling Heights, Michigan facility. Joining it in the U.S. will be the next Chrysler 200 model. Production is set to begin in January of 2016. We will be sure to keep you updated right here on our blog as more exciting details are released.

To prepare for its arrival, we invite you to visit our Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Medford showroom. You can check out what the current Dodge Journey has to offer and even take it for a spin. It sports a 2.4-liter inline-four engine that generates 173 horsepower, or you can choose the more powerful 3.6-liter V-6 engine which cranks out 283 horsepower. If the next generation model offers a performance that is better than this, then it is certainly going to be a model worth waiting for!
